Is there a story behind your online name and persona?

Feel free to answer in the comments or paste the code below into your own journal to answer the question.

There isn't much of an interesting story behind my online name or persona.
Fire Whispers is just the name of a song by Stutterfly.

It is a Scottish word that means 'everlasting' basically.

I use it because I feel it suits me and my struggle with my health and sense of self. No matter what life throws at me I endure it in the end even if I am a bit battered. I am everlasting. Ayebydan.

I wanted a Scottish username when I started this journal originally as a place to vent about mental health with a smaller and loser group of friends. I didn't want to reference anything obvious like ...tartan or thistles or something. I also didn't want to use Gaelic because my Scottish ancestors would never have spoken it despite common beliefs. Scots would always have been their tongue. It is Irish Gaelic that is my legacy on that side.

Also, it sounds neat.

My online name dates back to when I was a depressed teenager, and dorchadas is Irish for "darkness."

Almost no one can pronounce it, but I stick with it because it's rarely taken.
