My answer:

Duran Duran shaped my youth. Like I remember being in my room playing with my barbies and then I heard Ordinary world come on the radio for the first time. It filled me with some strange emotion. Every time they come out with a new album, i go back to them.. listen to their albums. To me they are what the very feeling of "nostalgia" sounds like

one of my favorite bands

I would say Bush and Radiohead. I recently picked them up again after a long absence. Bush was always a pretty solid grunge rock act and I don't know why they weren't hugely successful.
