1. Kind of - not as much as I used to.

2. Oh yes. I was in the Harry Potter fandom, and it's... an entirely different planet at this point, which explains the first answer. Fandoms in general used to be more meta focused, canon theories and all that, whereas in the fandoms I've tried joining since, canon conversations where very limited. It was mostly about shipping. But hey, whatever makes people happy. :)
