#25: everybody loves the 90s

Even though I was born in 1994, I wish I could have been a teenager in the early-mid 2000s. Before everyone had smartphones. When people bought physical cds and dvds. When local music scenes were much bigger and everyone went to shows. Emo, pop punk, and screamo music were popular. Fashion (especially alternative fashion) was better in my opinion. Everyone wasn't as sensitive. And music and TV were better.

It wasn't as cool as you think. Not as many people went to shows. We didn't know about them. If you were in the right place at the right time sure but that was not common.

Fashion was deffo better but then...I feel at this point there is more chances to go get what you want. If you wanted something outside of the 'agreed' in that period you had to hunt for clothes. Now the shops are everywhere and it is far more acceptable to be different.

And....I would not say we were less sensitive. We were less aware of the impact our words ect had and being educated on that was a good thing.

Don't see my gen through rose tinted glasses. We were far from admirable.

right now. to say the future is foolish to me. i don't know what that holds. the past has eugenics. i don't want to hand myself over to its revival. the past would kill me and my health. and as a historian...yikes...no. but the way the future is going? it doesn't seem so good either. i'll do right now, and do my best to make sure later is better.
