There was this one big forum dedicated to the show that was a central place for fans to meet and discuss the show online. However, since the admin was somewhat difficult to deal with, some users decided to go and open their own forum. All was well and good... until it was not.
I was friends with the admins of the new forum, so I joined pretty quickly (while still visiting the other forum), and became a mod there. Within the first few weeks of modding the new forum, I suddenly got a PM from one of the admins that informed about their suspicion that another user (and newly appointed mod) was, in fact, the admin of the old forum. That, in itself, wouldn't have been too bad if she hadn't pretended to be a completely different person.
Soon, the admins, I, and some other mods devised a plan to find out if our suspicions were correct.
What we did was the following: We opened a new thread in the mod forum (only visible to admins and mods) and talked about mass deleting our own content from the old forum. In my case, that was fanfic, fanart, and thousands of screencaps. Lo and behold, the next day, I was banned on the other forum. No reason was given. I didn't even get a message about it. Just banned.
Technically, that's where the feud was over. But we were a petty bunch. So turns out that the old forum's admin was admin in name only. In fact, the forum belonged to a guy who hadn't been online for years. So, as revenge, the admins of the new forum tried to contact the dude in order to sell the forum to them. But nothing came of it. After a year or so, the forum was deleted because, apparently, the guy decided not to pay for it anymore. Or whatever.
